What is it?
A taper is the more understated version of a fade: we don't take the whole side short, only the sideburns and the bottom of the nape, gradually. The cut gets clean, neat edges without high contrast. It can be low (low taper) or a little higher (mid taper). It's the taper haircut Budapest professionals choose when they want neat without loud.

How we cut it
We start at the hairline with clippers and work gradually upwards so there's no visible line. We cut the top with scissors or clippers to your chosen length, then blend the two parts together.
Styling at home
The taper itself needs no styling – only the top does. For a short top, a little matte clay; for a longer one, sea salt spray and matte pomade; for curls, a light cream.

What's the difference between a taper and a fade?+
A fade shortens gradually over most of the side, often down to the skin. A taper does it only at the hairline, sideburns and nape, so it's more understated and grows out more naturally.
Should I ask for a low or a mid taper?+
